Online Shopping
Do you shop online? More and more people are doing some of their shopping without leaving the comfort of their homes. From 2003 to 2004 there was dramatic online sales growth despite obstacles including security risks and struggling economies. The early adopter stage is over and now internet sales are moving into the mainstream. Veteran online buyers are starting to look past the basics of, “hey, I can get this delivered to my house for less than it costs to buy it at the local discount box store.” Online Shoppers are looking for:
- An online shop that is secure; a store that protects my credit card and personal information.
- A store that provides customer service. A real place that has real people that pick up the phone and answer questions.
- An online store that belongs to the Better Business Bureau or something similar.
- Free shipping or not. What they really want is a great product at a great delivered price.
- A online store that is easy to navigate and understand.
- An easy way to compare prices among several stores offering similar products.
If you can provide your visitors with the above and your have a fairly unique offering, you are well on your way towards successful online sales. If you aren’t providing all of the above, take stock of what you excel at and what you need to improve. Work diligently at making the required improvements to improve your customers’ online shopping experience.
Here's and example of stuff you can find online that you might not find in a store:
